Launched in Jan 2018, B&S is a set of curated collections of fine jewellery, daily wear jewellery, accessories, clothing and leather goods, all lovingly handmade in Dublin, Ireland.
The collections show interplay between traditional goldsmithing and leather craft techniques, as well as contemporary high-fidelity lasercutting and fabric printing techniques honed in the UK. They also have a huge focus on making bespoke special memories, with personalisations available for most pieces in collections.
It is the founder, Shubhangi Karmakar's, second venture into fashion and social enterprise after Repealist, a non-profit project creating apparel that has raised over
€7,500 for contemporary social causes in Ireland and abroad. As of launch, Repealist is formally incorporated as an imprint of B&S, with all profits from Repealist products still going to charities as usual.
Maintaining the commitment to social redistribution through enterprise, 15% from every B&S sale will be donated to a charity of the customer's choice. There will be 5 options to choose from each financial quarter, covering everything from women's, LGBTQ+ and migrant rights charities, to disability and poverty advocacy groups, predominantly in Ireland but also abroad.
